Brandon Borzelli's Geek Goggle Reviews
Secret Invasion #8 of 8
Marvel Comics
Bendis, Yu, Morales & Martin
The invasion is over and the good guys won! Well, the war is over with the aliens, so now the war can begin anew among the heroes. The issue wraps up the war with an artistic display that you want from a full universe worth of heroes. There isn’t too much drama or crazy twists with the Skrulls which was a little disappointing, but there was an odd twist at the end. I liked the arc as a whole, but found the ending to be a little lacking.

Brandon Borzelli's Geek Goggle Weekly Rankings For 12/04/08
Here are this week’s comics ranked prior to reading them:
5. Hulk Family Green Genes #1
4. Wolverine: Manifest Destiny #2 of 4
3. Secret Invasion #8 of 8
2. Cable #9
1. Batman #682
I also picked up Astounding Wolf-Man, but can’t give it a fair review until I’ve read a little primer in issue #9 and the Image Monster Pile-Up. I passed on Hellboy mostly because I missed the Darkness arc and I passed on the Iron-Man, Hulk and Nick Fury one shot.

Secret Invasion #7
Marvel Comics

One big fight. That’s what this issue is. The comic has some comedy, some drama, one huge twist and a ton of action. The artwork jams a ton into each panel. Most of the major Marvel characters get decent page space and have lines worthy of their voices. This was a ton of fun to read.

Secret Invasion X-Men #2 of 4
Marvel Comics
Carey & Nord
Well, the X-Men appear to be able to handle the Skrulls and even the Super Skrulls so what’s left? Well this issue doesn’t exactly show us how the Skrulls are prepared to deal with the X-Men, but there are a couple of interesting plot turns that can probably make this thing interesting. Otherwise I’d say this is a rout.

Secret Invasion #6 of 8

Ah the war has finally gotten Earth’s heroes to hit back. The Marvel trinity is reunited in this issue and things seem to swing the other way. Or does it? This issue is an entertaining and fun comic to read. There’s a huge cast, but there is a little something for fans of many of the characters. The artwork has a lot to shoulder here and does a great job not getting caught trying to do too much.
