Time Bomb wraps up with action-packed issue with plenty of twists and surprises. This mini series is a fun read that gives a good mix of science fiction, history and a military operation all in one. The one drawback was that I never really warmed up to the characters as much as I would have hoped for. Perhaps I just assumed they were all going to die and, therefore, I never allowed myself to become vested in them. Whatever the reason, I never found myself hoping that any one particular character would survive over another. The artwork helped elevate this issue to another level as it brings the whole story together.

The second issue gets the lead characters into some trouble as the plot really thickens. This creative team is showing that it is possible to tell a three issue story where each issue consists of fifty plus pages. You might not think this is not difficult but I haven't seen too many teams that can make this shift, but this team is able to do this almost flawlessly. This issue has a lot of espionage, action and interesting characters thrown into the mix. The issue is also a good glimpse at life in Germany in the last few months of World War II. The artwork probably is the stud of the issue because it keeps the issue fluid and moving quickly. This is definitely something to check out.

Time Bomb is a science fiction, horror, war comic book that touches on a lot of areas that make for great stories, like World War II, time travel and population destroying plagues. This opening chapter is an excellent read because it presents the mechanism for introducing the problem, unleashes the problem and opens up the door for the potential solution while setting it in motion. This is what you get when you have fifty-one pages of story in a comic book. Sure, the price is five bucks but with this level of storytelling it is well worth it. This is a mini series definitely worth checking out.

The Last Days of American Crime #2 of 3
Radical Comics

The stakes are raised in this issue as the heist date nears and the number of players increases. Remender delivers another thriller that leaves the reader behind if you can't keep up with the plot. He's managed to switch the characters over being mostly all antagonists to all being protagonists as I find myself cheering on the three leads in the story as more and more trouble finds them. This is another terrific read for those looking for a good crime drama in the same vain as an Ed Brubaker comic only with slightly less noir influence and a little more science fiction sprinkled in.

The Last Days of American Crime is a story that takes place some time in the near future where legislation is out of control and about to abolish paper money and the aspect of committing crimes by altering people's brain activity. Criminals want their one last score before everything changes forever. Rick Remender brings a crime mini series that has a unique plot to it and that is loaded with scummy characters. This is a comic book that is worthy checking out for sure.

An impulse purchase for the ripe price of $1. I had a vague idea that this was an adaptation of the King Arthur legend, which helped my overall interest in the comic. This comic has a lot going for it. I cant say I was totally into this intro issue, but the art really takes center stage.
