Moriarty The Lazarus Tree #9
Image Comics
Corey, Diecidue, Freeze & Lanphear
Moriarty unravels another mystery in the big finale to the Lazarus Tree arc. As we've seen in the previous arc of Moriarty, the good professor has a lot of the same detective skills as his old arch nemesis, Sherlock Holmes. The book lets the reader in on a lot of the clues that Moriarty picked up on as the story unfolded, which makes it almost a must to go back and re-read the previous issues in the arc. This is a smart and well thought out comic book. I simply hope there are more in the pipeline.

Moriarty #6
Image Comics
Corey, Vosburg, Diecidue, Freeze & Lanphear
The second issue of the Lazarus Tree arc brings more Sherlock Holmes-like actions into this series than ever before. Moriarty uses a wide range of knowledge and detective skills but the mystery doesn't seem to be any closer to getting solved. Although, the body count continues to rise. Overall, I think this issue will cater more towards the fan of the classic Sherlock Holmes interpretation but it does hold on to the darkness that the lead character is known for. This was a very good read.

Moriarty #4
Image Comics
Corey, Diecidue, Lanphear & Freeze
The first arc of the comic book devoted to Sherlock Holmes' archenemy wraps up with an extremely strong effort. The comic book succeeds in turning Moriarty into a protagonist in a believable way. The comic book is not without its flaws as the actual plot and story surrounding it aren't terribly as tight as the clues around them. The art continues to impress with another dark and detailed effort. Overall this book is a good capper to the first arc.

Moriarty: The Dark Chamber #1
Image Comics
Corey, Diecidue & Lanphear
Moriarty: The Dark Chamber is exactly what it sounds like – Sherlock Holmes' chief adversary in a dark world. However, Sherlock is long dead and Moriarty has been going through a bit of an identity crisis without him. Living a relatively normal life, Moriarty gets new direction as a mystery begins to unravel involving Holmes' long lost brother. Moriarty reenters the criminal underworld to less than welcoming arms. It's a good first issue that is filled cover to cover with story and a deep plot. The issue takes off in the last few pages to try to ensure the reader will return. Overall, it's a good start to this series.
