![]() Brandon Borzelli's Geek Goggle Reviews Kick-Ass #4 Let’s be clear about this review: I loved this comic. I don’t know much of a review I can give without a) spoiling everything or b) repeating myself so this may be brief. The comic is divided into three sections. We have the blood spilling carrying over from the previous issue, then we have the grief in the aftermath and then we have the establishment of a villain. The artwork is insane. It is by far the best of the series, which has already been outstanding. ![]() Brandon Borzelli's Geek Goggle Reviews Uncanny X-Men #501 This issue of Uncanny is pretty tame. Not a ton happens and that which does happen isn’t terribly exciting or new. It’s not a bad issue, but it just feels like there is a lot of downtime. Generally speaking downtime isn’t a good thing, so I am hoping this series picks it up a little bit. Suspended Animation Review Essential Rampaging Hulk Vol. 1, published by Marvel Publishing, Inc., 584 pages, $16.99. ![]() Brandon Borzelli's Geek Goggle Reviews Secret Invasion #5 of 8 The heroes gain some sort of advantage in this issue. This issue removes the veil of “who do you trust?” and it gets us to an even playing field. Some of the turning of the tide feels a little forced, but it was still an entertaining read. The main problem I have with this story is total detachment from the bad guys for the reader. I cant name one Skrull and frankly, I couldn’t care less if they all died or just melted under the global warming of the sun. In all this was an entertaining comic. ![]() Brandon Borzelli's Geek Goggle Reviews Cable #6 I was ready to drop this title. I liked the premise of the first arc, but it just seemed to move way too slow. I looked at this issue in the shop to say my good-byes and it looked good (and no, not just that Emma is in a nighty the whole issue). So I bought it and I really liked it. We finally get a plot churning issue with character development. Some for Cable and a lot for Cyclops. It’s a really good comic. ![]() Brandon Borzelli's Geek Goggle Reviews Wolverine #67 Part two of Old Man Logan advances the plot only slightly. However, it gives little tidbits as to what Hawkeye is really up to. It also dresses up this future world with some more scenery. Finally, it gives a little insight into why Logan has turned away from being Wolverine. It’s not the kind of issue that leaps the arc forward, but it is the kind of issue that makes you understand more just how this new reality is constructed. This issue does leave open some questions though.
