Brandon Borzelli's Geek Goggle Reviews
Kick-Ass 2 #6 of 7
Icon (Marvel) Comics
Millar & Romita Jr
Kick-Ass 2 issue number six stretches things out to set up the big finale in the next issue. This issue really only gets the heavy hitters into the same place at the same time to make sure everyone is going to end up bloody by the next issue. It's an average Kick-Ass comic book that really feels like this series should have been shortened by a couple of issues. Sure, the book is entertaining, which is all you can ask for, but it doesn't really bring much new to the arc. The big issue hasn't hit yet.

Kick-Ass 2 #5
Icon Comics (Marvel)
Millar & Romita Jr
Millar certainly knows how to put his characters through hell. The fifth issue of this mini-series continues the bloody massacre as Dave finds himself losing more of those close to him. The comic book is very entertaining making it something to pick up but the book is definitely light on story, as it seems like Millar is stretching this arc one or two issues more than it needs to be. Overall, this is a very good read especially if violence is your thing.

Kick-Ass 2 #3
Icon (Marvel Comics)
Millar & Romita Jr.
The third issue of the latest arc of Kick-Ass brings a lot of what you might expect. Millar tucks in some surprises, gives you a lot of blood and keeps it all interesting with some over-the-top humor. Romita Jr provides excellent visuals as always and it adds up to another very entertaining story. This series is nowhere close to the original (except in shipping delays) but it does provide a high level of entertainment. I definitely recommend this if you like some crude, sometimes bloody, adult stories.

Kick-Ass 2 #1

The sequel to the hit comic book turned movie begins with a different vibe from the original. This issue is definitely slower than the opener for the first series and really doesn't provide any 'wow!" factors that you found in the first series or from what you would expect in a Mark Millar comic. That doesn't mean this issue isn't any good. Quite the contrary, this issue is very entertaining but it's just very different from the first series.

Kick-Ass #6
Icon Comics (Marvel)
Millar & Romita Jr
After a lengthy layoff the sixth issue finally ships and it primarily deals with the origin and character development of Big Daddy and his daughter Hit-Girl. This series has a lot to offer those that like violence mixed in with humor. This particular issue provides plenty of both but may be the weakest thus far in the series. That doesn’t mean it’s a bad issue, but just that the first five were so very good that the bar has been set ridiculously high.

Kick-Ass #5
Icon (Marvel Comics)
Millar& Romita Jr
Months in the making the saga continues with perhaps the funniest issue yet. The overall plot for this series is jerked awkwardly forward in this issue as a second cape character is introduced, established and then launches into interaction with two more capes by the end. The issue has terrific artwork and a fast pace. It’s not too late to jump on board with this title if you missed the previous four because this one is worth it.
