Suspended Animation Review

Marvel Adventures Iron Man Volume 1, Published by Marvel Publishing, Inc, 96 pages, $6.99.

Marvel Adventures Iron Man Digest Vol. 1Part of me still can't believe I'm saying it, though I've been saying it for at least four years, now: What's needed more than anything in superhero comics today is FUN. The stands are dominated by Marvel and DC, whose products seem to primarily be dark, angst-driven, delighted with death, and generally "mature" to some degree. I use the "m" word loosely.

Okay, here's the thing. I've been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Iron Man Movie Artfx Statue since I first saw it in May '08. It was originally scheduled to arrive sometime in November.

Suspended Animation Review

Iron Man: The End, published by Marvel Publishing, Inc., 56 pages, $4.99.

So, far be it from me not to recommend Iron Man: The End.

Brandon Borzelli's Geek Goggle Reviews

Iron Man: The End
Marvel Comics
Michelinie, Chang, Layton & Cavallaro

Tony Stark is an older man. He’s in his seventies and he’s suffering from some form body erosion through his nervous system that gives him the shakes. Tony is looking for the next generation of Iron Man because he just can’t do it any more. This is a story about Tony coming to terms with being old and deciding how and who to carry on the Iron Man legacy. It’s an exploration of Stark and his triumphs as well as his demons. This comic doesn’t cover everything about Stark that you’d wonder about, but it sure hits a lot of them.
