![]() Brandon Borzelli's Geek Goggle Weekly Rankings For 10/08/08 Here are this week’s comics ranked prior to reading them: 8. Lone Ranger #14 Here are the rankings after the first read through with a mini-review: 11:29:05 am, by ComicList Categories: Reviews, IDW Publishing, Geek Goggle Reviews ![]() Brandon Borzelli's Geek Goggle Reviews Transformers Spotlight: Doubledealer Let’s face it, this has been a really long series. It became all the more apparent to me when I looked at a comic from this series for reference, only to realize it had come out two years ago. This issue brings that much back into the fold after all that time. However, the winning combination for this issue is the action mixed with chaos and the puzzle pieces being put together by the likes of Jetfire and Optimus Prime. Oh, there are still a ton of questions, but only a few less. The art takes the center stage yet again. ![]() Brandon Borzelli's Geek Goggle Reviews Transformers Spotlight: Hardhead This comic tries to do two things and ends up failing to do either one effectively. First off, it tries to give a quality one shot story for Hardhead. It doesn’t do this with any satisfaction. Secondly, it tries to advance the overall plot of main arc in four or five directions. It manages to catch my attention on only one or two. As such, this issue feels like it is all over the place and has way too many characters to keep track of. It feels like the comic is in over its head. Or hardhead. Ha-ha. ![]() Brandon Borzelli's Geek Goggle Reviews Transformers Spotlight: Cyclonus This issue picks up many of the plot threads left when the Devastation arc concluded. The issue does an excellent job of recapping all the information that you’d need for this comic at the front of it. It also starts to bring many of the open questions together into one place. Reading this comic made me want to see what happens next which is exactly what you want when you finish a comic. ![]() Brandon Borzelli's Geek Goggle Reviews Transformers Movie Prequel Special This comic contains two stories with over the 30 pages of story. Sadly, this comic sure feels like we’ve read most of it before. The Transformers comic movie continuity seems to be a mess. Adding to the confusion is the depiction of some of the bots in this issue differs way too much from those in the other movie comic series. I found much of this issue to be baffling.
