Brandon Borzelli's Geek Goggle Reviews
Huntress #1 of 6
DC Comics
Levitz, To & Dell
DC has begun to release its second wave on new books and some of them, like this one, are mini-series that seem to bubble up every few years. A few years ago a Huntress mini-series by Ivory Madison set the bar incredibly high for this character. It seems only natural that DC attempts to top that story by bringing back Paul Levitz to pen yet another mini-series for a character that has seen its share of re-works over the years. This issue differs from many of the other DC launches because the issue is almost entirely plot driven. Sure we get some understanding of the character but the book is light on introduction and the plot immediately takes a twist that launches into a larger problem. Overall I liked the book and think it has potential to be an entertaining read along the way and as a whole at the conclusion of the series.

Brandon Borzelli's Geek Goggle Reviews
Huntress Year One #6
DC Comics
Madison, Richards, Rapmund & Buhcman
Probably the best series of the year so far ends with a bang. This series has completely flown under the radar with the press grabbing Final Crisis, Secret Invasion, RIP and countless series and arcs out there now, but that doesn’t change the fact that it delivers on every single level. This issue doesn’t wrap up the story. No, instead it wraps some aspects of the arc, but leaves so much more open. Characters sit in the gray area between good and bad. It’s more than a super hero story or a mafia epic or a crime drama. It uses all of them, but it goes even deeper by taking aspects of religion and revenge, to name just a few, in crafting this masterpiece.

Huntress Year One #5 of 6
DC Comics
Madison, Richards & Rapmund
After hunting for some time for the first few issues of this mini I finally got caught up and am up to schedule. This issue is excellent. As the others have been. This issue doesn’t just tell a story, but it gives a mix of symbolism and irony that tells more than just a cool story. Add in excellent artwork and you have a pretty perfect comic. When you consider that this is a story about a C list character you can only marvel at the feat.
