Brandon Borzelli's Geek Goggle Reviews
Highlander Origins: The Kurgan #2 of 2
Dynamite Comics
Jerwa, Rafael, Lopez & Bowland
The second and final chapter of Kurgan’s origin does more jumping through the time stream and really launches him into the villain role. It’s a good look at the central bad guy from the original movie. You get thirty-two pages of excellent art, which helps provide some terrific fight scenes and some visual transformations that pushes this story to be very comprehensive. The price tag is steep at $5 but if you like the genre you wont be disappointed here.

Brandon Borzelli's Geek Goggle Weekly Rankings For 02/18/09
Here are this week’s comics ranked prior to reading them:
5. Uncanny X-Men #506
4. Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic #38
3. The X-Files #4 of 6
2. Highlander Origins: The Kurgan #2 of 2
1. X-Men Legacy #221
My LCS didn’t get their IDW comics so I am unable to read and review GI Joe Origins or Transformers Maximum Dinobots. It’s not clear if they will be in next week but I suspect they wont be. This week was close in the order but not nearly as good as last week’s comics.

Highlander Origins Kurgan #1 (of 2)
Dynamite Comics
Jerwa, Rafael, Lopez & Bowland
Highlander had a run in the range of fifteen issues that ended about a year ago. When I saw this in the solicitations I shook my head. Five bucks for a comic within a franchise that cant seem to make a story without using a character that died in the first movie 20-some years ago. Well, thankfully, I was dead wrong about this comic. It’s entertaining, interesting and padded in the page count. Is it worth five bucks? Well, it’s a very good story, so it very well might be.

Brandon Borzelli's Geek Goggle Reviews
Highlander: Way of the Sword #4 of 4
Dynamite Comics
Krul, Rafael, Lopez & Bowland
This issue ends the arc with a huge bang. I’m very pleased, as a Highlander fan, with how this entire arc was handled, but this issue really takes the cake. We have fighting, flashbacks, Ramirez and some mortals dying. This issue puts a cap on a strong story. I hope future Highlander stories pick up where this one left off.
