Lone Ranger #12
Dynamite Comics
Matthews, Cariello & Cassaday

The Lone Ranger returns after a few months vacation with a solid issue. This issue does a lot of setting up, but is still a very good issue. The characters seem to have trust for one another but it is so fragile on all sides. This issue helps to establish that the characters all still have doubts and are confused as to what they are trying to do exactly. The art is breathtaking again.

Lone Ranger #11
Dynamite Comics
Matthews, Cariello, Pope & Cassaday

This issue of the Lone Ranger is almost a solo story about Tonto. Not quite, but almost. The ranger barely shows up in it and the story that is before us is told with symbolism and implied themes. It’s a different kind of issue than what this series has given us. It isn’t bad at all, but it also isn’t the same level of story telling we’ve seen. This issue falls just short of the bar already set very high by the previous installments.

Highlander: Way of the Sword #4 of 4
Dynamite Comics
Krul, Rafael, Lopez & Bowland

This issue ends the arc with a huge bang. I’m very pleased, as a Highlander fan, with how this entire arc was handled, but this issue really takes the cake. We have fighting, flashbacks, Ramirez and some mortals dying. This issue puts a cap on a strong story. I hope future Highlander stories pick up where this one left off.

Project Superpowers #2
Dyanamite Comics
Ross, Krueger, Paul, Bowland & Carita

This issue gives many more new characters. They are popping up all over the place, while the main group escapes from their battle. While I understand the main plot about the breaking of the urn, I’m not sure I understand the secondary good versus evil plot going on here. I found myself not really sure who to root for and why I would want to root for anyone in some of the scenes. The art is excellent, as is the creativity with which these characters are born again into the modern age. I am unsure what to make of this series overall.

Terminator 2 #7
Dynamite Comics
Palmiotti & Raynor

This issue wraps up the crossover between Painkiller Jane and the Terminator. It has been solid so far, and while this issue provides for some good entertainment, I found it to contain instances of major departure from the core of this title’s character. So what does that mean? It means I liked it and disliked it.
