Image Comics

Elephantmen returns with an issue that jumps around setting up a new character and advancing the larger problem that seems to be going on with the androids and the reactivation of the Elephantmen. The issue may appear to jump around at random, but upon closer look there is a method to the madness. The issue makes great use of the large number of artists working on the book for the second issue in a row. This won't go down as the greatest Elephantmen issue of all-time but it is a very good read nonetheless.

Lobo shows up and causes a stir with some of the key ring slingers in this issue. As you might expect the issue contains a lot of large and loud brawling. The story that is in this issue is very slight and subtle. Essentially the issue is setting up a couple of character's agendas. Really, Lobo, is just a vehicle for one of the agendas. It's actually a good issue with a nice surprise in the back in the form of a Tales of the Red Lantern story.

Sal Buscema: Comics' Fast & Furious Artist provides a fine review of a Marvel Comics artist who became one of the most recognized artists of the comic world. He created some of Marvel's most memorable storylines and had a ten-year run with The Incredible Hulk: his creations cemented some of the most famous runs of the comic universe and here black and white and color panels compliment many Buscema insights, key to any serious comic collector's shelf.

Star Wars Dark Times #17Star Wars Dark Times #17
Dark Horse Comics
Harrison, Wheatley & Jackson

The five part storyline called Blue Harvest wraps up in this issue after a series of long gaps between issues. While the overall theme of this arc and series has been in line with the title, Dark Times, this issue bucks that trend in a big way. The issue doesn't exactly tie everything up in a neat little bow; in fact, the ending is very much ambiguous. However, the issue provides a very enjoyable read about a Jedi lost in the time of the Empire's height.

Atomic Robo: Revenge of the Vampire Dimension #4Atomic Robo Volume 4 #4 of 4
Red 5 Comics
Clevinger, Wegener, Pattison & Powell

The final installment of the latest mini series is a very good issue that brings to the table a lot of what makes Atomic Robo such a great comic book creation. The comic book has plenty of paranormal oddities, some action, hysterical dialogue and the unveiling of another interesting character. The only downside to the issue is that it has the daunting task of following the previous issue, which was among the best the entire run has ever seen. Still, the issue is definitely worth checking out.
