This book is exactly what the title describes: not so much a story as a guide for what I'm guessing will be future stories. It's a little like reading a handbook to a roll playing game. The art is excellent, but page after page of "this is..." grew tiresome. This isn't a book I would read again, though I'd be interested to see a complete story featuring these characters.

Exceedingly well drawn mice participate in a story telling contest. Stories about what? Mice, of course. Katie Cook, Guy Davis, Nate Pride, and Jason Shawn Alexander (with some help from Edgar Allen Poe) deliver tales of courage, wit, discouragment, and sadness, with no need to have read a previous issue to appreciate them. It definitely made me curious to see what the rest of the limited series is like. We never learn who wins the contest, but truthfully, anyone who buys and reads this comic will win.

All throughout the Americas, many struggles are depicted with a very anti-European slant. "The 500 Years of Resistance Comic Book" is a fascinating story of the untold history of the Native peoples of the Americas.

Through his two volume collection, Shawn Granger tells a story of secrecy and crime and how knowing these secrets isn't the best way to stay alive. Gritty and riveting graphic novels, "Family Bones" is a two volume collection that can't be beat.
