You can't talk about epic fantasy literature without tipping your hat to Robert Jordan (a.k.a. James Oliver Rigney, Jr.), who wrote the mega-bestselling series The Wheel of Time. Originally slated to encompass six novels, this complex and engaging tale, centering on the struggle of good versus the forces of the Dark One, will clock in at an amazing 14 novels by 2012.
Dabel Brothers Publishing is adapting Robert Jordan’s immensely popular fantasy series, The Wheel of Time, into comic-book form, starting with Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time: Eye of the World, the first book in the series (not counting the prequel, New Spring.

ATLANTA, GA – February 7, 2009 – Dabel Brothers Publishing, in collaboration with Tor Books, is pleased to announce more details and the publishing schedule for Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time comic books and graphic novels. All the books will be produced by the Dabel Brothers, who will be working with Robert Jordan’s estate, and be published initially as comics, then collected and published as graphic novel collections by Tor Books.

Dabel Brothers Publishing announced today that they will adapt Robert Jordan's bestselling Wheel of Time series, which has sold more than 14 million copies in North America alone, into comic book format. The first issue is scheduled to release in December 2008.
