Media Release -- More than 25 years after its first comic book, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles return to their roots with IDW Publishing. Today at WonderCon in San Francisco, IDW and Nickelodeon announced a long-term agreement to offer an all-new installment of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics and graphic novels. Starting this summer, IDW's comic series will bring the "Heroes in a Half Shell" back into action. IDW's new comics are part of a larger initiative to bring Turtles to a new generation of fans, starting with these new storylines from the original series. Media Release -- NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--A quarter century after their storied rise to fame as the most popular terrestrial reptilian brothers of a generation, the official “Shell-ebration” marking the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) 25th Anniversary kicks off in their New York City home on Thursday, April 23 to start a year-long series of personal interactive experiences for fans across America.
It's the 25th anniversary "Shell-ebration" of the fabulous phenomenon that changed comics forever! Almost single-handedly kicking off the independent comic book boom of the mid '80s, the titanic Turtles went on to become pop culture megastars with a hit animated series, a long-running line of action figures, box office-smashing feature films and of course, their very own Archie comic book series based on their TV show.
