Thor God Of Thunder #25Thor: God of Thunder
Marvel Comics
Aaron, Ribic, Guera & Bisley

This volume of Thor ends with a mix of stories at the inflated price point of $5. Jason Aaron manages to work in all three of his Thors and to tie up some loose ends from this volume. It's actually a very good comic where a bunch of artists all get a chance to tell their own small tale. The book is fairly imbedded in the entire volume's run which makes this issue very inaccessible to a new reader but to a reader that's followed along you get a great read.

Jason Aaron certainly doesn't shy away from the dramatics. The cover says it all. Old-man Thor squares off against Galactus. The comic book is more than just that but that is one of the tracks in this book and it's only the second issue of the arc. I definitely recommend checking this issue out. It's Aaron at the top of his game.

One of better aspects of Jason Aaron’s run on Thor is that he breaks up his epic arcs with a couple of one-shots and this issue is exactly that. This particular issue is set in the 9th century (Earth time) and puts a younger Thor against a dragon. The book is light-hearted in some spots but is a very dark and disturbing story overall. While the comic book is a beautiful looking book I’m not sure the story completely drives the point that it is trying to make. It’s a good book but not a great one.

The "Accursed" concludes with a stellar issue that is full of surprises. Jason Aaron follows up his surprise from the previous issue where Thor is revealed to be the traitor with a bunch of additional twists that leaves this storyline concluded but another epic in the making sometime down the road. While this isn't a perfect issue it certainly is among the best in what is proving to be a fantastic series overall.

Thor continues his hunt for the Dark Elf, Malekith, as the League of Realms meets its first casualty. This comic book is a good read as Jason Aaron takes the group of allies and breaks them apart from within. The arc launches into the final chapter with a great, but odd, cliffhanger at the end of this issue. This is a comic book worth picking up.
