Media Release -- IDW Publishing today announced the second TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES Micro-Series issue, entitled MICHELANGELO. Considered by many to be the "soul" of the Turtles brothers, Michelangelo sets off on a stand-alone adventure, exploring New York City during the holidays. In this action-packed issue, Michelangelo will find a new friend, grave danger, and uncover new secrets that reveal clues to ongoing mysteries, all with that classic Michelangelo attitude.

The reboot of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles provides a good but not great read in the opening issue. The comic contains plenty of action and gives a good amount of back story but the characters are largely left untapped in terms of personality. Overall, it's good to see these characters back but the opening issue just didn't make feel the same excitement as I did in anticipating the reboot and this issue. Still, I think those that are looking to jump on board then this issue will probably keep you coming back. However, the casual fans or the ones that were fans of the original series may not find all that much in here to get hooked on.

Media Release -- More than 25 years after its first comic book, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles return to their roots with IDW Publishing. Today at WonderCon in San Francisco, IDW and Nickelodeon announced a long-term agreement to offer an all-new installment of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics and graphic novels. Starting this summer, IDW's comic series will bring the "Heroes in a Half Shell" back into action. IDW's new comics are part of a larger initiative to bring Turtles to a new generation of fans, starting with these new storylines from the original series. Additionally, in fourth quarter 2012, Nickelodeon will premiere a new CG-animated version of the wildly popular Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise.

The aggregate purchase price for the transactions is approximately $60 million.
