Media Release -- Warner Bros. Consumer Products, on behalf of DC Comics, and action sports event producer, ASA Entertainment, announced the dates for the 2010 Supergirl Jam event series today. For the fourth consecutive year, these unique events will feature more than 100 of the world's top female action sports athletes competing in surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding and inline skating. The Supergirl Jam is the industry's only large-scale, all-girls action sports competition and is designed to celebrate female strength, independence and empowerment. In 2010, the Supergirl Jam series will kick-off with three events, each highlighting the sport's most talented female pros as well as up-and-coming amateurs.
SUPERGIRL #48 (OCT090219) now will feature art by Fernando Dagnino and Raul Fernandez. Because of this change, this issue will be made returnable by retailers at a later date.

Media Release -- LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The 2009 Supergirl Pro Junior surfing contest, which identifies and celebrates the emerging stars in women's surfing, will take place August 15 and 16 at the Oceanside Beach Pier in Southern California. The sport's top 20-and-under female surfers look to hit the waves during this two-day event in their hunt for a spot atop the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) junior ranks and their share of the $15,000 prize purse.

Right now, Deering is working on a prequel series that will complement one of this summer's major movies — he's not allowed to announce which one, yet. His portfolio also includes titles such as "Resident Evil" and "Supergirl," both published by DC Comics.
It's only been a few years since the 36-year-old has been working among the comic world's elite, although he's been drawing and inking the fanciful pages for decades.
"Something just switched in 2004, and everything got better," he says. "It wasn't a conscious thing, but something happened. And after that, I started to get noticed."

Part Eight in the New Krypton arc sees one of the main Kryptonians “die” which only fuels the divide among the Kryptonians. The comic’s real story here is outlining the failures of Superman and Supergirl to assimilate the people of Kandor to Earth. The comic sets up an ugly ending that probably means more Zod.

New Krypton rolls on and the cast grows in this issue, as does the action. This issue advances some of the ideas the villains have in mind for Superman and his fellow Kryptonians. We also see that Supergirl’s mother isn’t totally on the up and up either. This issue has plenty of action and really puts Superman in an impossible spot. He’s wanted by an awful lot of people and he doesn’t seem to have a lot of cohorts to help out. In fact, the cliffhanger has some of his friends getting ready to hunt down the Kryptonians.
