Total sales remained "strong" and the graphic-novel category grew by 5%, says Steve Geppi, CEO of Diamond Comics Distributors, which services more than 4,000 comic-book stores nationwide.

"We remain optimistic about the comic-book industry heading into 2009," he says.

The biggest new title of the month was ASTONISHING X-MEN: GHOST BOXES, and there’s also the “Original Sin” crossover between X-MEN: LEGACY and WOLVERINE: ORIGINS. And, er, that’s pretty much it - there are some new miniseries further down the charts, but otherwise, it’s a month of business as usual.

The invasion is over and the good guys won! Well, the war is over with the aliens, so now the war can begin anew among the heroes. The issue wraps up the war with an artistic display that you want from a full universe worth of heroes. There isn’t too much drama or crazy twists with the Skrulls which was a little disappointing, but there was an odd twist at the end. I liked the arc as a whole, but found the ending to be a little lacking.
