Atomic Robo: Deadly Art of Science #5 of 5

The latest arc of Atomic Robo wraps up with a loud and fun issue. With Robo and friends in deep trouble they receive help from an unlikely source as the two big adversaries finally go head to head. As always it's a fun issue that doesn't do anything except entertain the reader page after page.

Independent comic book publisher Red 5 Comics, founded in 2007, burst onto the scene with a slate of creator- and publisher-owned titles, including Atomic Robo, Abyss, Neozoic, and ZMD: Zombies of Mass Destruction. Since then, the publisher has won the Gem Award for Best New Publisher and been nominated for multiple Eisner and Shuster Awards.
They have also been very active on the digital front, partnering with iVerse and ComiXology, among other providers. We recently had the chance to interview Red 5 founder Paul Ens as part of our Digital Comics Month, and he provided us with some in-depth and thought-provoking opinions about the present and future of the industry:

Atomic Robo: Deadly Art of Science #1

Robo is back with the latest arc and the first issue is on par with any of the previous ones. This story is set in the past and, as a result, Robo's personality is more naïve than in the issues set more in modern times. In some ways, he's more curious which makes him more charming. On the other hand, he's more trusting which seems to get him in more trouble. Either way, the issue is very good and shows off a side of Robo we haven't seen much of but one that is equally as funny as in previous issues. I enjoyed the start of this arc very much.

Atomic Robo: Revenge of the Vampire Dimension #1 of 4
Red 5 Comics
Clevinger, Wegener, Pattison & Powell
The start of the fourth volume of Atomic Robo brings my first foray into the world of this very popular character. I've heard mostly nothing but good things about the series as it was presented to me as something similar to Indiana Jones meets Hellboy. Being a big fan of both characters in comic book form I figured this would be an easy win-win situation. However, in the back of my mind I had that nagging feeling that I would be disappointed. Especially with the cheesy element of Vampires in the title of the comic. I'm glad I didn't pay much attention to the nagging voice because I thoroughly enjoyed the comic.
Media Release -- This December, the third volume of Atomic Robo debuts with the trade paperback Atomic Robo and the Shadow from Beyond Time. It collects the acclaimed five-issue mini-series, with bonus stories and art… and the web-short "Atomic Robo vs The Yonkers Devil" in print for the first time.
Media Release -- November marks the release of DRONE, an all-new action-adventure comic series in the spirit of WARGAMES, with the robotic action of TERMINATOR and TRANSFORMERS.
In the near future, the U.S. transforms modern warfare by testing lethal remotely controlled robotic drones on the front lines. They are powerful, lethal, and effective. To the world's superpowers, the technology is something to be coveted and stolen. To a group of state-side fun-loving hackers, it is the ultimate video game. But when enemy rebels capture a group of drones and lock out their military controllers, the illicit gamers may be the only hope for the surviving technician.
Media Release -- Monstrosity, Inc. and Earth-2 Comics invite you to join Christopher Leone & Laura Harkcom in celebrating the release of their new comic book WE KILL MONSTERS, which debuts from publisher Red 5 Comics this month.
Media Release -- September marks the release of "Beautiful Creatures", an action comedy series in the vein of BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER and magical wonder of HARRY POTTER.
The series follows the adventures of four close-knit college girls who share a bond beyond wine and hot tubs… within each of them lies a hidden beast of mythology. After an attack by bloody-thirsty unearthly knee-biters, the secret passengers boil to the the surface, unleashing ferocious powers of self-defense. The four friends are thrust unwillingly into a world of magic and monsters to tame the demons inside.
