This hardcover library edition features strips shot directly from the original proofs, in crisp black and white.
Media Release -- When Lee Falk and Ray Moore's adventurer The Phantom burst into newspapers as a daily comic strip in 1936, he was the first precursor to the comic book superheroes of the late 1930s and '40s. Hermes Press is proud to announce our reprinting of the Silver Age adventures of the globe-trotting Phantom, starting with Gold Key's 1962 version, in eight hardcover library-bound volumes.

Media Release -- Moonstone Books and Captain Action Enterprises, LLC, have announced plans to team-up two iconic heroes, The Phantom and Captain Action, in the "Phantom Action" mini-series on sale in March 2010.
In this new adventure, the Phantom is captured and his wife Diana pleads with Captain Action to help. "It turns out the young Captain Action has had a crush on Diana since his teenage years, so that makes for an interesting dynamic", said series writer Mike Bullock. The two-issue mini-series is pencilled by Reno and offers a variety of covers by artists Art Thibert, Mark Sparacio and Michael T. Gilbert.
The first, original, and best masked hero to ever grace the pages of comic strips and comic books returns with Hermes Press’ new complete reprint of The Phantom. Referred to by comic strip historian Maurice Horn as the “granddaddy of all costumed superheroes,” The Phantom was created in 1936 by Lee Falk with artwork by Ray Moore. The strip hit the funny pages of newspapers well before the Dark Knight or Superman made their first appearances and has been acknowledged as an influence on every “masked man of mystery” since. The Phantom set the standard for action, adventure, intrigue, and romance in adventure comic strips and comic books – it has frequently been copied but never equaled.
Now, Hermes Press will offer the entire run of the comic strip beginning in September, 2009 and which will span over seventy years of The Phantom legend, ending with artist Sy Barry’s run on the strip in 1994.
