Media Release -- Following the untimely passing of Joe Simon in December, Titan Books has pledged to further his legacy by continuing to produce the only volumes fully-authorized by Simon himself. The most recent book in the series, The Simon and Kirby Library: Crime hit the New York Times bestseller list in November, and the next volume—slated for release in fall 2012—will be The Simon and Kirby Library: Science Fiction, followed a year later by a collection of the legendary duo's greatest horror tales.
Social Media Release -- Titan Books has expanded its publishing agreement with comic book pioneer Joe Simon, co-creator of Captain America, to launch The Official Simon and Kirby Library beginning in 2009. In addition to the previously announced volumes The Best of Simon and Kirby and The Simon and Kirby Superheroes, the library will include volumes collecting the greatest horror, detective, and romance stories ever produced by the legendary Dream Team of comics.
Titan Publishing Group Ltd. has announced the acquisition of worldwide rights to a range of books celebrating the work of Golden Age comics legend, Joe Simon, co-creator of Captain America. Throughout his career, Simon pioneered every aspect of the industry, from writing to art, editing to publishing. He ran a studio that employed some of the industry’s most talented artists, including the famed Jack Kirby. He was the first editor in chief of the company that became Marvel Comics, and ultimately played a pivotal role in comics’ transcendence to an American art form.
