Nope. I hate the idea of a reboot. This review will surely reflect that. However, this comic was definitely met with the possibility to win me over. It didn’t. I hope future issues will, but I am not sure that is going to happen. (San Diego, CA; September 08, 2008) – When IDW Publishing announced they had reached a deal with Hasbro to plan a re-launch of the G.I. JOE comic book franchise, they kept their mission plans secret. The final issue of what was to be the biggest GI Joe event in the 25 year history is also the final issue published by DDP. With the end of the World War 3 arc comes some good moments that leaves me wondering how this arc really would have ended if DDP were keeping the license. Oh well. What we get, in reality, is a really great extra sized comic with some outstanding action moments, a couple of twists and some really inconsistent art. 07:55:28 pm, by ComicList Categories: Reviews, Devil’s Due Publishing, Geek Goggle Reviews ![]() Brandon Borzelli's Geek Goggle Reviews GI Joe America’s Elite #35 GI Joe turns the tables on Cobra. This issue is the second to last for the twelve issue arc, as well as the second to last GI Joe comic for DDP. I can understand that with the transferring of the license to IDW, that DDP cant really kill off any main characters or otherwise destroy assets that are about to change hands. However, this arc really feels like all the air was sucked out of it with this issue. The slow build now has a rush to wrap up feel to it. I cant say I totally disliked the issue, but this is no where near the caliber we have seen from this arc. It’s a victim of its own consistency that this story is a letdown.
