Elephantmen #38
Image Comics
Starkings, Medellin, Roshell & Cook
Elephantmen is an excellent comic book. The very best issues have been the ones that break out of the ordinary, such as the story putting the Elephantmen in the Conan genre. However, this issue doesn't really break from the norm. Instead, this issue ties together two or three long running plots in shocking fashion. This convergence was both entertaining and a bit shocking as Starkings reveals a couple of the big cards he's been holding since the beginning of the series. I will try to avoid spoiling anything but this is your warning. The impact of this issue will depend greatly on how long you have read the book. The long time readers are going to be floored whereas the more recent readers might not find these developments as shocking. Either way, I recommend picking this book up.

Elephantmen #37

Starkings & Medellin
The latest issue of Elephantmen continues to play with the timeline as the issue explores a serial killer on the loose in the "day before yesterday" fashion. This issue has a ton of characters and actually ends up revealing quite a bit of back-story on some of the previous plots from issues 26-34 (or thereabouts). The book is a dense read with two completely different and interesting back-up stories. Overall you really can't go wrong picking this book up. Especially if you like science fiction, detective work, serial killers and hot babes.

Elephantmen #35
Image Comics
Starkings, Cook, Wright & Roshell
The story of Yvette continues in a brutal and bloody conclusion to the sequel to War Toys. This issue is very simple in its execution – Yvette is a badass and takes on all sides. The subtext is all of this is just how different the creations of Elephantmen are based on the countries or companies that made them. The book is a fantastic read and Starkings clearly has future plans for Yvette but what could possibly top this?
Media Release -- In November, a giant-sized helping of ELEPHANTMEN, Richard Starkings' increasingly popular ongoing science fiction series, will be available from Image Comics. GIANT-SIZE ELEPHANTMEN #1 will collect the entire sold out Man Or Elephantman story arc, which was previewed in the back of THE WALKING DEAD #86. GIANT-SIZE ELEPHANTMEN #1 will include MAN AND ELEPHANTMAN #1, ELEPHANTMEN #31, and ELEPHANTMEN #32.

Elephantmen #34

Starkings, Cook, Wright & Roshell (back up by Aldridge, Medellin, Roshell & Starkings)
The latest issue of Elephantmen brings about something I've waited for a couple of years running: the return of Yvette. The star of the War Toys arc from a few years ago returns for a second round of War Toys in an absolute must-read book. The beauty of the issue is that the war branches out into yet another continent as we begin to get a larger picture of what occurred during the war that shaped the lives of all of the characters in this outstanding series. This is definitely the book to pick up this week if you want to read an entertaining comic book with a terrific story and outstanding artwork.

Elephantmen #33

Starkings & Kane
The epilogue to “Man and Elephantman” delivers yet another stellar issue in this excellent series. For the most part, this issue is a look into one of the background or unknown characters in the series. However, it is the themes that Starkings wraps around the issue that makes the comic so memorable. Guest artist, Shaky Kane, steps up and knocks the issue out of the park. All of this adds up to a very entertaining and haunting issue of Elephantmen.
