Media Release -- Four of Chicago's most well-respected comic book stores are teaming up for a month-long Comic Shop Crawl event. Chicago Comics, Challengers Comics + Conversation, First Aid Comics and Third Coast Comics have created a 4-store tour that encourages their customers to visit each participating store in order to fill up a Comic Shop Passport with destination stamps from each of the shops. Once filled, the completed Passports are turned in and 4 winners will be drawn to win their share of over $1000.00 in comic store merchandise and prizes. The drawing will take place at comic-themed party held on Saturday December 4th in Bucktown at the American Legion Hall. No purchase is necessary to participate in the crawl, but each store is offering a discount to Passport holders if they choose to shop on their visit. The December party is open to all comic fans 21+, not just those participating in the crawl.
The results of the latest ComicList survey have been tallied. When asked "Do you prefer buying digital or traditional printed comics?", most ComicList readers said they preferred good old paper and ink comics to new fangled funny books made out of ones and zeros.

Much like Monday's list became Tuesday's, tonight's Preliminary ComicList will not be posted. Hopefully Diamond will issue their info tomorrow! Check back then!

What you've heard is true: I have made it, by the grace of God, to my fifteenth anniversary putting together new releases lists. Thank you VERY MUCH to everyone who has read and used my lists, and to everyone who helped me make them, including Xeno's and SunCoast Comics of Jacksonville FL, and Things From Another World. Thank you to everyone who has contributed articles and reviews, starting with columns like the Legion Chat Report, Late Comics Report, Newsarama, all the way to today with Brandon Borzelli's fantastic Geek Goggle Reviews.
Some resolutions/ideas/thoughts as we stand on the precipice of 2010:
1) I resolve to be more thoughtful about the stories and press releases I post on comiclist.com. Looking back at 2009, I can see some items I posted that did not fit with the theme of this site. We are all about letting you know what is coming out and when, and the non-list items should reflect that. Of course, I won't abandon non-release stories like those about CBLDF. And if something relatively important happens, like the Marvel/Disney merger, I'll report on that too. I'll just skip (most of) the press releases about parties and movies. And, I'll endeavor to post the ORIGINAL news and reviews that everyone is going to send to me in 2010 (hint hint).
2) I resolve to remember and take advantage of the Comicraft Annual font sale this year.
