Media Release -- This past Sunday at the International Comics Festival in Angoulême, France, Drawn & Quarterly cartoonist Guy Delisle walked away with the world's most prestigious award for the comic book medium, the festival's Fauve d'Or for best graphic album for CHRONIQUES DE JÉRUSALEM, beating out 60 other titles. JERUSALEM: CHRONICLES FROM THE HOLY CITY will be published in English and in stores this April. Delisle will be on a ten-city tour for the first time in North America, dates and venues to come. Scheduled for Fall 2012, Drawn & Quarterly will be publishing the mid-century comic book reprint PIPPI MOVES IN under its children's imprint, ENFANT, it was announced today by D+Q Creative Director & Acquiring Editor Tom Devlin. Pippi Longstocking is Sweden's best-known children's export and has enthralled generations of children the world over with her fabulous exploits at Villa Villekulla, where she lives with her horse and monkey. Countless editions have been sold of the chapter books in over 60 languages. For the first time in English, Drawn & Quarterly will publish the first of a three-volume set of original Pippi Longstocking comics written by award-winning and world famous children's author Astrid Lindgren, drawn by original Pippi artist Ingrid Vang Nyman and translated by esteemed translator Tiina Nunnally. World English rights were negotiated with the Rabén & Sjögren Agency.
