Tags: action comics![]() Brandon Borzelli's Geek Goggle Reviews Action Comics #871 New Krypton rolls on with another issue that doesn’t live up to the opening Special from a few weeks ago. The comic tries to establish the various mindsets of the Kryptonians but the characters themselves have no personalities and, as a result, have little reason for the reader to feel the pain or hate them for their twisted motivations. Perhaps the best part of the comic is what happens at the very beginning. I have high hopes for this arc, but I am wondering now if I can stick this thing out. ![]() Brandon Borzelli's Geek Goggle Reviews Action Comics #870 Well, this is the issue where a major character bites the big one. The arc had been pretty good but it will be lost in the gimmicky death that was leaked to the press before the issue hit the stands. I actually didn’t find the death scene to even be that good. Sorry to say it but I actually found it to be a little light on the drama. Anyway, Superman finds a way to beat Brainiac and in the process loses someone he loves and gains a whole new Krypton city. The Associated Press has revealed a major event that occurs in Action Comics #870. Do not read on if do not want this issue to be spoiled before you get a chance to read it. Again, SPOILER ALERT! ![]() Brandon Borzelli's Geek Goggle Reviews Action Comics #869 Superman is faced with impossible odds. He overcomes them only to be knocked down again while his loved ones are caught in the balance as part of the back drop to his struggle. This issue provides some excellent action, a good plot movement and some nice back story about some newer characters. The artwork is great as you’d expect. This issue is nearly perfect.
