Last year, writer Andi Ewington created the original graphic novel 45–made up of 45 "interviews" with or about superpowered individuals, each with a different artist. Now he's starting to take those characters to create a trilogy of new and exciting books for Com.x!
The premise of Andi Ewington's graphic novel 45 is simple yet complex: British journalist James Stanley lives in a world where some individuals are born with an extra chromosome, the "Super-S," which grants them amazing superpowers. After years of reporting on various superheroes and villains, James and his wife now await the birth of their first child–and the "Super-S" question weighs heavily on their minds.

If you’ve been keeping an eye on comic news lately, you’ve probably heard whispers (and shouts) about 45, an intriguing title from Com.X that hits shelves on December 23rd. And if you’re anything like me, you read the praise for this title, such as in the November 2009 issue of Wizard where 45 is listed at #17 on the list of “Top 50 Things You Need To Buy,” and you started to get more than a little excited.
If you’ve been paying attention to the forums and review sites over the past few months, you may have noticed an outpouring of love for UK publisher Com.x. This is well-deserved praise as, although not boasting the largest bibliography to date, the folks at Com.x have consistently published great titles (Path being a personal fave) and introduced several amazing artists to the American comics audience. However, the latest round of excitement stems more from the re-release (in new and improved formats, of course) of two titles from earlier in this century, Cla$$War and Razorjack.
