New Reviews of This Week's Releases!
We're back! Sorry for the delay–YouTube was updating yesterday and giving us fits. We did have it posted on our Facebook page, however–become a fan, if you aren't already! This week, Josh and I tackled Blackest Night #8, X-Men Second Coming, the new Terminator 2029 #1 from Zach Whedon, Detective Comics #863, Hack/Slash #30, Governator #1, Prelude to Deadpool Corps #5, the awesome Faith Maquette, and the Master figurine from the Buffy and Angel Figurine Collection!
Antarctic Press's tongue-in-cheek series, President Evil features a striking cover for issue #4: Yes We Cannibal. A takeoff on Shepard Fairey's iconic Barack Obama "Hope" poster, President Evil #4 shows a "zombiefied" Obama, complete with dangling ear.
It’s no secret that the name “Obama” has been all over the comic book scene this year. Between Amazing Spider-Man #583 and Female Force: Michelle Obama, comics related to our First Family are flying off the shelves! In fact, we sold out of Obama the Comic Book Inaugural Edition from Antarctic Press before it was even released.
However, you now have a second chance to buy this landmark comic book, as we’ve gotten some straight from the publisher. Created by Chris Allen, Obama the Comic Book Inaugural Edition is an illustrated biography of our newest president, offering an intimate look into his childhood and the personal struggles he’s dealt with while becoming one of the most prominent men in the world.
