REVIEW: Schulz’s Youth

Charles Schulz. I’ll bet you’ve heard the name. Creator of the long-running and much loved Peanuts strip, it’s a good bet that the few who haven’t are still playing toy pianos and carrying around security blankets. What you may not have known, however, is that Schulz also wrote teenagers. In the event that you missed that little tidbit, a wonderful volume awaits you in Schulz’s Youth. And I have to say, the man wrote the adolescent crowd nearly as well as he did the shin-kickers.

Splinter Hits The Big Screen

On the mean streets of LA, two gangsters--Dreamer (Almeida) and Dusty (Noel G.)--unite over the mysterious murder of their brother. Dreamer, with the bullet that killed his brother still lodged in his skull, is desperately seeking revenge when he crosses paths with Detective Gramm (Atis), a confident rookie cop partnered with corrupt veteran Cunningham (Sizemore). Amidst a rising body count and the threat of an all-out gang war, the four characters lock themselves in a brutal end-game as they discover who among them is creating the brutal chaos.

Sony and Virgin Comics to Create Online Ramayan Game

SAN DIEGO and NEW YORK, Aug. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Through a deal that joins two of the world's most innovative entertainment brands, Sony Online Entertainment (SOE), a global leader in the online gaming industry, is teaming up with Sir Richard Branson and Deepak Chopra's Virgin Comics to bring the popular, India-based Ramayan 3392 A.D. comic book universe to life as an MMO video game initially for the PC.

The deal was announced today by John Smedley, President of SOE and Sharad Devarajan, Co-Founder and CEO of Virgin Comics.
